The Hayman Fire:

From the Mountain Shadows Restaurant in Lake George. Pyrocumulous cloud - looks nuclear.

We were working at the Florissant Volunteer Fire & Rescue looked up & saw this. Not a happy site.

We had our own Air Force. Thank goodness!

North of Woodland Park. The fire definitely had its way!

March Lookout. Local firefighters had a key lookout post right above our house. Nice to have them near.

Taking a break at the fire department. We kept smiling!

Mother nature still takes care. These are Aspen trees sprouting up amid the destruction.

This is a neighbor’s property. The fire came closer than we originally thought and burning embers floated down around our house.

Tornados:

Sunday, May 25, 2014:
Sunday, June 8, 2014:
This tornado touched down in the Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument.
After a few minutes it dissipated.

The tornado passed over Lake George.

It literally wrapped around our house, but fortunately at a safe distance.  By then it was starting funnels , but not touching down.
It then proceeded to rise and fall, touching down occasionally as it came toward our home.
